    Challenge

    Jagran publishes more than 500 articles from their digital desk and 5000 news articles from their print desk over a day across multiple categories like Taaza, Cricket, Politics, Tech, etc. They were facing a challenge to select the relevant content out of this large bucket of articles and serve them to a reader’s preferences archived from the reader’s history. They also wanted to increase the size of their loyal reader base without lesser dependency on paid channels.

    Step 1: Tatvic Analytics’ data science team created the solution architecture document for a content recommendation engine (CRE) to be hosted on Google Cloud Platform. Our team estimated the number of concurrent recommendation requests to be handled at the backend server from the number of users visiting the Jagran website in real-time in Google Analytics 360. This was necessary to choose the right mix of data ingestion, storage, processing and serving Cloud products for the CRE. The GCP products deployed are present in the attached architecture diagram in the following section.
